The
Right Direction
Freedom
Party's Election 2008 Platform
Freedom Party of Canada will run its first slate of candidates in
the federal general election 2008. Building on the Ontario membership and
support
base
of its provincial counterpart, Freedom Party of Ontario (an officially
registered political party in that province), Freedom Party is launching
its 2008 organizational effort by laying a sound foundation:
a fresh vision for Canada that is bold, unequivocal, and just. When Canadians
spend their
time
organizing
a team to win seats in the House of Commons, they need and deserve first
to know the direction in which their efforts will take Canada. The
Right Direction speaks for itself.
If
you believe that many of Canada's economic problems
are the result of protectionism, favouritism, subsidies,
government-imposed monopolies, wealth redistribution,
kick-back schemes and inflation of the money supply,
Freedom Party has the answer: it is Canada's first
and only capitalist political party.
By "capitalism", we do not mean a system
in which the government helps out businesses, businesses
help out political parties, and business "partners" with
government: we mean a system in which government
protects life, liberty and property, and does not
involve itself in the peaceful efforts of persons
to trade within Canada and/or with persons in other
countries. We do not mean a system in which government
takes half of your earnings and uses some of it
to give one company or another a monopoly on the
provision of a good or service: we mean a system
in which the providers of goods and services have
to compete with one another to earn each of millions
of individual Canadians' business.
If
you believe that no individual should be discriminated
against on the basis of their genetic make-up
or peaceful activity choices, Freedom Party is
for
you. If you believe that peaceful personal choices
about your body should be yours and yours alone
to make - e.g., matters of health, reproduction,
sexuality, etc. - Freedom Party is for you. If
you believe in freedom of expression - that the
CRTC should not tell you which television stations
you can watch, or which satellite services you
can use, or which songs you can/must listen to,
or whether your favourite radio/TV personality
can say "booger" on the air - Freedom
Party is for you.
If
you believe that individual freedom requires every
individual to take personal responsibility for
the results of their freely-chosen actions, Freedom
Party is for you. If you believe in right and wrong,
and that government has a responsibility to protect
every individual's life, liberty and property,
Freedom Party is for you. If you believe that government
gets its authority from the people it governs,
and that the actions of individuals and the actions
of governments should be judged by the same code
of ethics, Freedom Party is for you.
In
the four years that will pass before the next federal
election, you can play your part in the building
of a great Canadian political party. Have a look
at the Freedom Party plaform. E-mail it to your
friends and acquaintances: all of them.
Invite your friends and acquaintances over for
a few refreshments or a BBQ this summer, and decide
to build a Freedom Party riding association in
your riding...it only takes a handful of Candians
to win a seat in 2008. Freedom Party Headquarters
(1-800-830-3301) is waiting for your call and can
provide you with everything you need to get ready
to choose and run a winning Freedom Party candidate
in your riding in 2008. As the now famous ad says:
